Bouncing Bears and Playful Pups Weekly Round Up

This week the Bears have been looking at different colours, we have also been building towers and structures. In the Pups the children have been making their own sea life scene display and pizzas and biscuits which they all enjoyed eating for their tea.
The Bears and Pups would like to wish Jacob a very Happy 2nd Birthday today and Kirsty a very Happy Birthday next Thursday.

This week we have done lots of messy play and have all enjoyed getting very messy!
We made some cakes and the children loved helping to measure the ingredients and mixing them all together in the bowl but they enjoyed eating them even more for tea!
The children have been looking at the wind in the garden, they loved putting their wellies and coats on and we took some things out with us to see how they moved in the wind. The children enjoyed holding the objects up to watch how they move in the wind.
We also had the shredded paper in the messy tray and the children enjoyed pulling the paper out onto the floor and lying down to sleep on.
The Bears and Pups would like to wish Elsie a very Happy 2nd Birthday on Saturday.

This week we have been looking at close relationships by looking at our own and our friends family books and spending one to one time with our key person.

This week the Bears have been taking part in lots of creative activities, we have done hand and foot painting, sponge painting and learning our colours. We all enjoyed getting very messy during our hand and feet painting!
This week the Pups have looked at different textures, playing games with textures and discussing what they felt like. We also played with adding different coloured paints of their choice mixing in the colours before adding objects to them.
Could the Pups please bring in photo’s of people they share a close relationship with next week.
Krysten will be on holiday next week.
If any of you have any Sainsburys vouchers that you would like to donate to the nursery please could you give them in as soon as possible as we are approaching the deadline.
On Friday 1st June at 3:00pm we will be holding a garden party to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee. We hope that as many of our parents and other family members will be able to join us. Please could you let your child’s key person know if you would like to attend, so that we can inform the kitchen for catering purposes.
The theme for the celebrations is ‘Kings and Queens’, if your child does not have a costume we will also be wearing red, white or blue, please feel free to join us with this dress theme on the afternoon.

Bouncing Bears and Playful Pups Weekly Round Up

This week we have been tasting different fruits, we tried strawberries, kiwi fruit, mango and grapefruit. The children thoroughly enjoyed tasting all of the fruit but we think that some of the children found the grapefruit a little bit bitter by the faces that they pulled!
We have also been playing with shredded paper in the messy tray which the children enjoyed pulling out and throwing all over the floor!
We have painted out St George’s Day flags ready for Monday. The children enjoyed getting messy with the red paint and using the paintbrush to dab on the paint onto the paper. To celebrate St George’s Day on Monday please could the children wear something red to nursery.
Our termly parent meetings will be taking place the week of 8th May, please speak to your key person to make an appointment.

This week the children have been playing in the home corner where they’ve been dressing the babies. We have also done lots of creative things including making crowns ready for the Queens birthday and making an emotion board.
We would like to say goodbye and good luck to Ateeya who is sadly leaving.
We would like to say Happy Birthday to Tiffany who is celebrating her birthday on Monday.

Bouncing Bears and Playful Pups Weekly Round Up

This week the Pup’s have been looking at measuring sand and water while we were in the garden enjoying the sunshine. We have also made own our fruit kebabs, the children loved choosing their own fruit for their kebab, which we counted as we put it onto the stick. Carrying on the counting activities we have also been looking at the book ‘The train ride’ counting the animals and trains which we could see.
The Bears have been helping to tidy up by putting the toys away. We have also had lots of fun playing in the garden with the sand and water.
As the weather should be getting nicer could you please make sure that you bring in a sun hat to nursery.
Everyone would like to welcome Thomas and Eloise to the Bears and wish Abi all the best as she goes on her maternity leave.
The Bears and Pups would like to wish Nieve a very Happy 2nd Birthday on Tuesday and hope that Emma Richmond has a Happy Birthday today.

Bouncing Bears and Playful Pups Weekly Round Up!
March 30th, 2012
This week the Bears have been focusing on sharing and showing care and concern to others. The children visited the baby room to help and showed care towards the other children. They all enjoyed joining in with singing and then were really good at sharing their toys.
This week the Pups have made puppets using old socks then had even more fun creating a puppet show with them. The children enjoyed helping to make a stage for the puppets.
The Bears and Pups would like to thank the parents for making the children’s bonnets and for coming to the parade.
Abi would like to say Goodbye to all the children and parents as she is going on maternity leave. “It has been lovely working with you all, and I will see you all again after my maternity leave.”
Kirtsy is off next Wednesday and Thursday and Krysten is off next Thursday.
We would like to welcome Jen, who is coming to work in the Bouncing Bears.

Bouncing Bears and Playful Pups Weekly Round Up

This week the Bouncing Bears have focused on exploring. We’ve looked at different medias and textures in our environment. We even explored the laptop, using the keyboard and mouse to create our own work! We’ve also enjoyed looking at different animal books.
The Playful Pups looked at safety signs and we created our own signs. We also had a lot of fun using cones as our traffic lights in the garden, with the red cone meaning stop! The weather has been so nice that we’ve been joining up with the Cheeky Chipmunks for tea in the garden.
Can you bring in old socks next week please – the children will be making puppets!
Just a quick reminder that our Easter Bonnet Parade is next Thursday at 2:30PM and all the parents are welcome. You’ll need to make a bonnet with your child at home and the best bonnet on the day will win a prize. If you’re looking for ideas and inspiration then look at our blog for useful links.

Bouncing Bears and Playful Pups Weekly Round Up
March 16th, 2012
This week the children have been joining in with the Jacappella music class which they always enjoy. We have been making music with instruments and and the sensory bottles. These are plastic bottles filled with things like dried rice and pasta to make noise, or glitter and water to make pretty patterns. They are easy to make at home and provide hours of entertainment!
We have also been creative and made Mothers’ Day cards – but no peeking till Sunday!
